Drag racing turned me into a jewelry designer. My husband, Mark, was racing in the Pro Stock category in the NHRA Series and I started making jewelry to fill up some downtime.
After purchasing some pieces made by others I noticed I was making more and more trips to bead stores. It wasn't long before I was dragging my kids, Kyle and Kassandra, into the stores with me to buy beads and supplies and to take classes. I was very surprised when a few people started asking if they could buy the pieces I'd made.
I love working with semi-precious stones, Austrian crystals, pearls, sterling silver and gold-filled findings and chain and anything else that can make a piece of jewelry stand out.
Many of my pieces are one-of-a-kind, some can be duplicated and I enjoy creating custom pieces.
